The Sky Ports Bulk Cement Export Station is a strategic infrastructure development designed to create a more efficient and scalable connection between Egyptian cement production and international markets.
By integrating high-capacity storage, controlled cement movement, specialized handling equipment, and direct vessel-loading capabilities, the project will bring the principal stages of the export process together within one coordinated operation.
At full development, the station will comprise 6 dedicated cement silos. Each silo will be capable of storing up to 20,000 tonnes, providing a total planned storage capacity of 120,000 tonnes.
This capacity will enable cement to be received, stored, managed, and prepared for export with greater operational control. It will also help separate production schedules from vessel schedules, providing greater flexibility when coordinating supply, storage availability, and marine operations.
The station is being designed to support annual export throughput of up to 3.5-4 million tonnes, contributing to the ability of Egyptian cement producers to access international markets through reliable, purpose-built export infrastructure.
The project brings previously separate stages of the export process into one coordinated logistics operation.
At the centre of the marine operation will be a high-capacity shiploader with a rated loading capacity of 1,000 tonnes per hour.
The loading system will provide a direct and controlled connection between silo storage and the export vessel, reducing unnecessary cargo movement and supporting faster, more consistent vessel turnaround.

The project draws on Swedish engineering experience in material-handling equipment, supporting reliable cement movement, high-capacity loading, and controlled operations across the storage-to-vessel process.
German engineering knowledge supports the project's silo ventilation, cement-flow management, dust-control measures, and the controlled transfer of cement from storage to the vessel-loading system.
Egypt possesses significant cement production capabilities and a strong geographical position connecting regional and international markets. Realising the full export potential of the industry, however, requires logistics infrastructure capable of handling high volumes efficiently and consistently.
The Bulk Cement Export Station is being developed to help address this requirement.
By providing dedicated storage and high-capacity marine loading, the project will strengthen the connection between Egyptian production facilities and overseas customers. It will help producers coordinate larger export volumes, improve shipment planning, and respond more effectively to international demand.
The project will also support the wider industrial and logistics ecosystem through increased inland transportation activity, marine services, port operations, technical employment, equipment maintenance, and supporting supply-chain services.
Through this integrated infrastructure, Sky Ports aims to contribute to the competitiveness of Egyptian exports while supporting the country's ambition to expand industrial trade and increase its presence in international markets.
